Josh Crockett is a creature and character artist for the film, tv, gaming, and publishing industries. Josh started 3D in 2002 and has been hooked ever since. He started using Zbrush in 2009. His work has been featured numerous films such as Spiders 3D, Lavalantula, Welcome to Willits, Zoe, The Dark Tapes, American Horror Story, Extant the series and he was lead designer on the Stan Against Evil for the IFC channel for season 1 and 2. In this course you’ll learn how to build a Grey Alien character from scratch in Zbrush using a variety of methods. First I’ll show you how Zspheres can be an effective tool for building your own mesh to sculpt on. Then we’ll move on to the blockout stage of the sculpt where I’ll show you methods for defining the shape of your character using the tools in Zbrush. We’ll then continue in Zbrush and refine and finish the sculpture and painting and posing. You’ll also learn about using keyshot or similiar render engines to achieve a nice, professional render that will later be composited in photoshop for a final illustration to be presented in your portfolio.
